Content Tagging For Better Social Media Analytics
What is rule based tagging? Put simply, this is a new Talkwalker feature that will help you improve the quality of your social listening. You will be able to define a specific action you would like to be applied on all new, or even past results. This is an incredible time saver: our filters are great for handling most qualitative analysis, but manual categorization of results can be time consuming.
Here are a few ways content tagging will improve the quality and the effectiveness of your social media monitoring.
Prioritize Social Results and Address a Potential Crisis Quicker
Rules will help you set priorities in your assessment of social data. As you probably know too well as a digital marketer, brands can receive thousands of mentions every day and you need to reply as fast as possible to those that have the biggest impact. Rules allow you to “Set as important” or “Set a certain score”. For example, you’ll be able to automatically tag content coming from a key influencer so you can easily stay on top of the most important posts.
It is also helpful to tag something as important or urgent so that you can prioritize the results and address them quicker to avoid potential risks. For example, if a mention that includes a term related to customer service originated from a person with more than 1000 followers, you could tag it as “important” to make sure it receives immediate attention.
You also have the option to automatically assign specific posts to the relevant team or department, as in the example below.
With Rule Based Tagging Social sentiment analysis is a bit of a controversial topic when it comes to social data intelligence. Because of how difficult it is to analyze language and context, no sentiment analysis tool is 100% accurate but it helps brands and companies to achieve an overall sentiment vision of a particular brand or topic. Now, using the tagging feature, you can improve the accuracy of your opinion mining on results and also apply this rule to future results to save time and resources.
In the past, a brand from the pharmaceutical industry for example would see most posts talking about drugs, illness and treatments typically tagged as negative. For these cases, a user can define a rule to customize sentiment for mentions containing terms that are often misclassified in this context. This rule will be applied to past results and will automatically apply to new results as they come in.
Remove Irrelevant or Unnecessary Data
This is another problem digital marketers are familiar with. Given that over 1.9 billion people use social media on a regular basis, it doesn’t matter how great your platform is : there will always be irrelevant or unnecessary data that gets through the filters.
