Black Friday is in a couple of days and now is the time to sniff out the best deals to prepare for this day of shopping madness.
With the help of the Talkwalker social media analytics tool, I’ve put together the most popular Black Friday deal mentions in a ranking, and out of 1.3 million publications on the web, the top 3 most used words are Samsung, Apple… and ‘Free’.
Freebies, a new trend in marketing for Black Friday 2014?
I dug deeper into the 413,500 results claiming to have ‘free’ stuff for this occasion. This is what I conclude:
A large majority of deals offer free… shipping, or free returns, which accounts for almost 16% of all ‘free’ mentions. That is something, but I’m sure some businesses will show more generosity on this day, so let’s continue dissecting the information. My next findings are more appealing, as actual gifts are offered for free during this period:
